Several new vendors will offer their wares this year at Hansberry Garden’s annual Plant Fair and Bake Sale on Saturday, May 9, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Garden (5150 Wayne Avenue, in Philadelphia’s Southwest Germantown).
Hansberry Garden volunteers will offer a great variety of indoor and outdoor plants, including lilac saplings, peonies, many native perennials, salad greens and cooking greens, tomatoes, ornamentals for shade and sun, and much more.
Artist Eva Dillon, a member of the garden, has created the beautiful silkscreen designs you see below for Hansberry Garden; they will collect t-shirts, totebags or any flat fabric, take it home, turn it into a work of art, and return it to you! You may also sign up to bring a fabric item at a later date.

Basement Growing will offer numerous varieties of tomatoes and peppers; Plant and People will offer various vegetable seedlings and potted plants; FarmerJawn will offer herb plants, leeks, cauliflower, tomatoes, and peppers; DeHaven Pollard will offer eggplants, cucumbers, zucchini, and marigolds; and the Reixinger family will be offering beautiful hand-crafted ceramics, birdhouses and other crafts.
As always, our talented home bakers will make sure you don’t go away hungry — and there are sure to be a few surprises! Don’t miss this annual Germantown event.
