Julep fans, jump on this! Sold in 5 1/2″ pots, this mint is poised to leap out of the starting gate and will likely be ready to make a substantial contribution to your celebration of the Belmont Stakes on June 5. But you need not be a racing fan to enjoy it — use it in teas, salads (like tabouleh), sauces, and however mint strikes your fancy. Give it enough water, and it will reward you. When it flowers, it will attract pollinators galore. In the right conditions, mint will propagate itself by sending out runners, so if you have space you’d prefer to reserve for other plants, it’s best to plant it in a large pot or otherwise contain it.
