At Hansberry Garden and Nature Center (HGNC), part of our mission is to “[e]ngender the values and attitudes among people that foster responsible stewardship of our urban environment.” To that end we seek to bring together people, both members and supporters, so that we can begin building the network to accomplish what needs to be done. What better way to create those connections then over a warm bowl of homemade soup or a decadent piece of vegan chocolate cake, or even a delectable cold pesto salad that uses fresh basil picked from a member’s bed?
