Hansberry Garden & Nature Center’s annual plant sale, scheduled for May 9, 2020, will happen — but, because of the Covid-19 pandemic, not quite as usual. We have a limited stock, and to minimize contact and thus the risk of virus transmission, all items will be sold through our online store. Where possible, purchases will be delivered by our volunteers. All purchases will be delivered except for the following, for which pickup times will be arranged:
- Orders that include bags of composted manure or hardwood mulch
- Orders purchased by customers who live outside our Northwest Philadelphia delivery zone
Our delivery zone includes the following Northwest Philadelphia zip codes (in numerical order): 19118, 19119, 19126, 19127, 19128, 19129, 19138, 19141, 19144, and 19150. Deliveries will be made to these zip codes beginning Sunday, May 10.
Arrangements for curbside pickup of nondeliverable items will be made during the week following the sale.
As usual, the sale will be open to active members of Hansberry Garden for one day before it opens to the general public. Planting members’ purchases will be delivered to their planting beds in the garden; arrangements will be made for supporting members to pick up their purchases.
