We are wildly enthusiastic about this African variety of eggplant, introduced to us by Truelove Seeds. It produces fruits about the size of duck eggs, usually harvested when they are white (but we have found them very sweet when they’ve ripened to deep orange). It can be eaten raw or cooked; young leaves are also cooked and eaten. It’s a big, sprawling plant that can be staked if necessary. It needs full sun and fertile soil.
