Also known as Morelle de Balbis, vila-vila, and sticky nightshade, Solanum sisymbriifolium is a tomato-adjacent plant that produces sweet, bright red, cherry-tomato-sized fruits that have been characterized as midway between a cherry and a tomato in flavor. It has been used in culinary applications from pies to sauces to pickles. Its fruits, which are red on the outside and yellow inside, grow inside a spiny, green husk.

These large, indeterminate plants grow to 5 feet and are covered with spines; white flowers are larger and showier than those of standard tomatoes.
