One of the first tomato hybrids developed, Big Boy is prized for its vigor and its sweet, fragrant, red-skinned fruit. It is a classic beefsteak tomato. Large plants are indeterminate, but have a relatively bushy shape. They tend to produce heavily at the height of the season, but they often continue to yield some fruit until the end of the growing season. These plants, more than a foot tall and sold in quart pots, are ready to be transplanted right away.
